Our Product Standards

MyPetHealth Shop is being built around a simple idea: a small catalog of everyday pet-care essentials that we would be happy to use with our own dogs and cats. To get there, every product we consider will go through the review process below before it can be listed.

Please note: this page describes the process products will go through in the future. It does not mean that any product has already been reviewed, tested, or approved.

The eight checks

1. Supplier verification

We confirm who the supplier is, how they operate, and that they can support a store like ours reliably over time.

2. US inventory verification

We check where inventory is actually held and confirm the fulfillment location before we make any statement about where a product ships from.

3. Shipping-time verification

We look at real transit times, not advertised ones, so that the estimates shown on product pages are ones we can stand behind.

4. Sample order

We place a real order for the product ourselves and go through the same experience a customer would.

5. Quality inspection

We inspect the sample for materials, build quality, finish, and whether it does what it claims to do.

6. Return-process verification

We confirm how returns and damaged-item claims are handled, where items are returned to, and how long the process takes.

7. Margin and landed-cost review

We calculate the full landed cost — product, shipping, fees, and handling — so that pricing is fair to customers and sustainable for the shop.

8. Review of safety and product claims

We review the product's safety information and every claim made about it. We do not repeat health or medical claims that we cannot support, and we will not describe a product as "vet approved" or similar unless there is real evidence behind it.

What this means for you

Product pages will tell you what a product is made of, who it is for, how to care for it, where it ships from, and how long delivery is expected to take. If we do not know something yet, we will say so rather than guess.
